After your estimate is confirmed, a contract with concise plan is made based on the scale of your project, the structure of your home and most importantly, your schedule. This plan is fairly simple in most cases, but it helps communication and understanding throughout the your project.
-
Even though painting is a fairly straight forward process One Brush provides a professional environment at all times. This means that all surfaces are properly prepared, and all surrounding surfaces are properly covered accordingly prior to any paint application. work sites are always organized and cleaned before the end of each day and cleaned after completion to leave homes in the same or cleaner state than when project was started.
-
All surfaces are properly prepared prior to paint; dust, dirt, and debris is removed. nail holes, nail pops, and blemishes are addressed accordingly. All drywall work and repairs are primed with PVA primer. Slip resistant butyl drop clothes are used on most floor surfaces and .31 mil plastic is used to cover furniture and the occasional ceiling fan when ceilings are painted.
-
After all surfaces have been properly prepared, we are ready to begin applying two coats of paint. If a primer is required previous to the application of certain colors, walls will be primed accordingly to make sure the true color that you have chosen is what you are left with in the end. The order of painting for One Brush is, ceilings, walls, and trims and doors are last.

By One Brush standards
-Semi-gloss and High gloss paint finishes are used for trims, doors, and decorative walls
-eg-shel and low luster paints are used for walls and rooms that experience high traffic, children, or pets.
-flat and matte paint finishes are used most commonly for ceilings and walls and room with less traffic.
-
-Paints with matte or flat finishes are easiest to touch up as they do not leave lap marks, however they do get dirty the easiest. these finishes are most commonly found on ceilings and walls in new construction homes. Not recommended for rooms or homes with high traffic, children or pets
-Eg-shel or low luster paint finishes are the most common wall paints in homes and rooms with high traffic, children or pets as they are easiest to clean with a damp rag, however paint touch ups are much more noticeable because of lap marks do to the glossier finish.
-matte/flat finishes are easy to touch up but hard to clean, glossier paints are easier to clean but harder to touch up.
-Matching paints can be difficult if you do not have the name of the original paint, ceilings are the most common misconception in that not all whites are actually white. In most cases with new construction homes, ceiling paints tend to be PVA primer, however depending on your sight, a true white ceiling paint can leave a much smoother flat finish and result in better lighting.
